As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional with over 20 years of experience, Kamila Elliott specializes in serving high-net-worth individuals, tech professionals, athletes, and business owners through comprehensive wealth solutions and holistic financial planning.
Kamila spent the majority of her career at Vanguard, working with ultra-high-net-worth clients and institutional investors, including major universities, hospitals, and charitable organizations throughout the Southeast. Her client relationships ranged from $20 million to $450 million and represented $3 billion in total assets. She also worked at Dimensional Fund Advisors, supporting financial advisors with tailored investment solutions.
In 2022, Kamila made history as the first African American Chair of the CFP Board in their 50-year history, which provides governance for over 107,000 financial professionals nationwide. She currently serves on the CFP Board’s Public Policy Council, advocating for legislation with politicians and advocacy groups to provide Americans access to competent and ethical financial planning. She has been recognized by Barron’s Top 10 Person to Watch in Wealth Management (2023) and Financial Planning Magazine’s People to Watch (2022). She serves on the CNBC Financial Advisor Council and serves on the Investment Committee for Women Against Abuse Inc. in Philadelphia.
A respected voice on the racial wealth gap, diversity and inclusion in financial services, and working with first-generation wealth, Kamila is a frequent speaker and financial expert. She formerly volunteered with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and now supports financial literacy initiatives through the Georgia Secretary of State, the DFree financial freedom movement, and Jack and Jill of America.
Kamila earned a Masters of Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
