Brian McKinney is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional at Collective Wealth Partners with over 20 years of experience helping clients create, grow, protect, and transfer wealth. His areas of expertise include retirement planning, tax planning, investment strategy, and equity compensation.
Brian began his wealth management career as an Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch in New York City, where he worked exclusively with ultra-high-net-worth families with estates valued at $25 million or more. He subsequently served as a portfolio manager at U.S. Trust, managing discretionary investment portfolios totaling $500 million, and as a Wealth Manager at USAA, where he assisted military families in achieving financial security.
Committed to closing the wealth gap and expanding financial literacy, Brian regularly leads financial wellness workshops for nonprofits, Fortune 500 companies, and organizations of all sizes.
Brian holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, where he received the Woodruff Fellowship, the school’s most prestigious merit-based honor. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, graduating with honors.
